Richard Payne is a Saint Lucian Pianist/Composer/Arranger best known for blending contemporary jazz with infectious grooves from the creole Caribbean.

With influences ranging from CHICK COREA to KASSAV, Richard’s musical textures draw heavily from his Afro-Caribbean heritage and identity.

Over the years, Richard has collaborated with musicians from around the world, gracing festival and concert stages in the Americas, Europe and across the Caribbean. He has opened for renowned Artists including Earth Wind & Fire, Kassav, John Legend, Monty Alexander, Kenny Garrett, Richard Bona, Sheila E , Hamilton de Holanda and others.

Richard’ Payne’s original music has been featured on RFI, (Radio France International ) WDNA(Miami), Jazz Magazine, Afropop Worldwide, Caribbean Beat, 1’ere , France-Antilles and other prominent platforms. His latest Caribbean Kreyol Jazz album, “INTROSPECTION” was released in 2025.
